It has been a little bit since it happened, but I wanted to take a little bit and brag about Haley a little. A little over 2 months ago, Haley finished residency. It is the culmination of a long road – 3 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school, and 3 years of residency, and that doesn’t include her time before college. While the road ahead will involve lots of hard work, I want to celebrate this accomplishment at this point. I have only really know Haley for her time in residency, but in that time she has worked untold hours, 24 hour shifts, night shifts, and missed out on far too much sleep. She has dealt with patients with mental illness, STDs, cancer, diabetes, rare illnesses, colds, and death. I admire her for how hard she works, how much she cares about her patients, and how she handles the stress and strain.
Congratulations my dear wife on your accomplishment to finish your residency and be able to practice medicine unsupervised and supervise residents. I love you and I look forward to the years to come of you practicing medicine.
